About Water Resolution
Water Resolution is an new disposition alternative to fire-based cremation and burial. This natural, chemical process accelerates the decomposition by using alkaline hydrolysis technology. The method produces pure bone ash – just like a retort – and a sterile, liquid byproduct, which is returned to the ecosystem.
This completely automated process, operated in a closed vessel and directed by an easy-to-use touch screen, combines water, potassium hydroxide, and heat. There are no air emissions, and the amount of energy used is a small fraction of fire-based cremation. The entire process is completed in two to three hours, depending on the size of the body.
Alkaline hydrolysis has been used successfully on a worldwide basis. Biosafe Engineering, the parent company of Water Resolution, has completed over 85 installation of this technology in other sectors over the last 15 years.
